Introduction: God’s Transformative Presence on Earth
Throughout the millennia of human history, God has progressively
revealed Himself to humanity, manifesting His love, His divine
characteristics, and His personhood, but especially His tripartite essence.
He always reveals Himself as the one true God who exists in three
Persons: God the Father, whom no man has seen (see John 1:18); God the
Son, Jesus Christ, who is the Word made flesh that lived among us on
earth (see John 1:14); and God the Holy Spirit, who continually guides,
comforts, and empowers believers (see, for example, John 14:16). The
Father dwells in the heavenly realm; Jesus is seated at the right hand of
the Father, with the authority to govern the entire universe; and the
Holy Spirit is active on earth, leading the church.
